They keep stirring things up and stirring things up and stirring things up, and they just won’t stop. They want an open war.

What happened last week?

On 22 August, a young Ukrainian woman named Iryna Zarutska was stabbed in the back. You can see the pictures; it all happened in Charlotte, USA. But the world only took notice on 7 September, just over a week ago, after Elon Musk drew attention to it.

On 10 September, Charlie Kirk was shot dead.

Charlie Kirk is unlikely to be known to most Germans, which is why the public broadcaster felt compelled to portray him as a Nazi, fascist, racist, misogynist and the new Hitler.

Now, it’s important to know that Mr. Kirk had been travelling from college campus to college campus, across the entire United States for years (and I’ve been following his videos on YouTube for years), setting up his table and his tent, and his motto was always ‘prove me wrong’. And then he would debate with the wildest, sometimes the most stupid and deluded people in the world. He always let them finish speaking, always polite and respectful, never attacking the person who wanted to debate.

His significance in the United States was so great that he was featured in South Park; his humour was so great that he took a shot from the series and used it to support a current argument. So the tone is genuine; South Park is South Park:

Of course, he’s a great racist if he rejects racism as such. So it came as it had to come.

Kirk was a supporter of MAGA and Trump, and I already mentioned the framing of the ÖRR. And so there were and still are many on the left who celebrate his murder and can’t even pause for a second. Especially not at the taxed based broadcasting in Germany. In the US, there is a wave of dismissals because colleagues are reporting their colleagues. Clearly, those who are more conservative themselves and see their colleagues cheering Kirk’s death would rather not know what dances of joy such colleagues would perform at their own shooting.

At the same time, there is a call from Christopher Landau, X handle @DeputySecState, to report foreigners who, let’s say, are not dealing with the assassination in an appropriate manner.

If you have no idea what this means for public broadcasting, read through the comments. I have never, ever seen so many German comments under a tweet, and all of them, absolutely all of them, recommend the dismissal of Elmar Theveßen and the refusal of visas for Dunja Hayali and ‘El Hotzo’ Sebastian Hotz (gag writer for Jan Böhmermann).

This did not go unnoticed by the former US ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, who posted the following:

And all is not lost yet, because today there was a mass demonstration in London organised by Tommy Robinson. Hundreds of thousands must have turned up.

Of course, they’re all Nazis and racists, what else? After all, they don’t want their daughters to fall into the hands of Islamic grooming gangs. Because anyone who doesn’t want their 12-year-old daughter to be raped by 52-year-old Pakistanis is clearly a racist, according to current ‘case law’ in the UK.
